Giving something back is really important to us at Jungle and we like to get involved in a variety of charitable activities or local community projects.
Here’s just a few things that we have been doing….
Renewed Support for the Hunger Project
Jungle Diversity, through it’s sister organisation JungleHR are pleased to confirm a third year of support for The Hunger Project. As a UK Brand Ambassador, Teresa Boughey, CEO and founder of Jungle HR and Jungle Dirvsity, has pledged to raise funds a significant sum during 2018 to help women end hunger in their communities through the Unleashed Women Leaders Initiative.
She said: “I am passionate about supporting other women across the world through education and empowerment and I was inspired by the work of The Hunger Project’s Unleashed Women programme which aligns with my personal values and those of my company which is ‘delivering change through people’.”
The Unleashed Women programme project aims to reach 80,000 women in communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America, giving women and children access to quality health care and nutrition, education and support for entrepreneurs.
As an HR expert, Teresa Boughey, Jungle founder and MD, is more used to negotiating the boardroom than giant slides, but she donned her Superhero outfit to tackle an inflatable obstacle course to raise funds for Severn Hospice in April 2018. Teresa was joined by husband Mike and son James to complete the Superhero challenge 5k course known as KAPOW!
Teresa, dressed as Wonder Woman, was raising funds in memory of her mother, Shirley Wheeldon. She said: ‘My mum was a true Wonder Woman and she was very well looked after by Severn Hospice so I was delighted to take part in the first ever KAPOW! event to raise funds for such a good cause.”
Team Jungle smashed their fundraising target but would like to raise even more, so if you can help there is still time to donate via Teresa’s Just Giving Page.
Severn Hospice provides care for patients and families who are living with life limiting illnesses and strives to look after their medical, emotional and practical needs in a compassionate and respectful environment. The Hospice relies on public fundraising for two thirds of their income every year.
Inspiring Girls & Young Women
Our Jungle CEO Teresa Boughey is involved with the Inspiring the Future and Inspiring Women Nationwide programme which has been set up to talk with girls and young women about the ‘job they do’ and route they took.
We believe that it is vital for young female talent have access to Senior Female role models, and that they are able to broaden their aspirations through hearing the real life stories of other successful Senior Female Leaders and Entrepreneurs, and ultimately to be inspired to believe in their capabilities.
We are proud to be involved in this initiative and to have the opportunity to influence and change the lives of young talent.
